notmovingpictures Episode 46: My Peruvian Vacation

This episode was recorded on September 30th, the last day of my Peruvian vacation. Not long after I returned home I had almost all of the podcast edited and planned on finishing it the next day and then uploading it. Except then my laptop died. Everything on it has been unavailable including all of my saved episodes, my music, pictures, documents, etc and quite realistically it all may be lost for good. Luckily I still had the file on my recorder and so I was able to use a computer and download the editing program and start over. Since I want to get this up I have decided not to do any editing on the content. Normally I will take out too many uhhhs or if I cough or sniffle because I feel it distracts from what was being said. Not this time though. What we have here is a conversation between myself and my brother-in-law Gary Rivera. Gary was preparing to emigrate to the U.S. and we talked about the differences in our countries as well as what I did on my vacation. Since this was recorded in Peru and is a great deal about Peru I decided to close the episode with some Peruvian metal. Enjoy.

Opening music: Alloy - Live To See The Day
Closing music: M.A.S.A.C.R.E. - Sombras de la Humilidad

New Zines: What She Said and Badly Drawn....On Purpose issue 2

This is way overdue but since my laptop died a lot of things have been left hanging and will more than likely continue to do so until I am able to get a new one. The likelihood of that happening soon doesn't look good so until this is resolved I'll just do what I can.

I've had two mini-zines ready and although I left a few in various places while on vacation in Peru and mailed them to certain friends it's high time I got rid of them so in the next few days I'll be taking them to the library and perhaps a book store or two to drop them off. If they happen to find themselves placed inside of books to be found at a later date at said locations well, it won't be the end of the world now will it? As well, I need to drop a few off at Holy Mountain now that they've moved to their temporary location.

For the first time ever I've submitted a short story to a zine but I'll leave it at that until I hear if it was accepted or not. If so then I'll gladly trumpet the info as well as buy a bunch of issues to keep for prosperity's sake and if not then I have a magazine in mind to submit to. If neither entity chooses to publish it then I'll just have to put it in the next issue of Exercising Demons. I'm extremely well behind in writing issue 3 but like I said, no laptop and that makes it hard to write. Don't ask me how I'm able to work on this post, I can't give away the details on my trickery.

Other than that, I went to see Black Sabbath so if I am able I'll put a few pictures up. I intend to see Henry Rollins later in the month so there might be a blog post all about that. There is this little thing next week where I'm turning......well let's just say another year older and leave it at that, shall we? I'm old and that's all that needs to be said about that.
