I Update The Look Of The Blog Every Decade, Whether It Needs It Or Not

Guess I should update this blog since I really haven't done much to it in years. Make it more modern or at least give it a change. Lately I've had my zines reviewed in a few places and most recently it was on Seagreen Zines Youtube channel. Who knows, maybe one or two people might find their way here after wandering through the internet. Stranger things have happened.

Speaking of zines, in addition to the last issue of I'm Not From Here I Just Live Here that I just sent out, I included my first poetry zine called Does This Count? Poetry From A Non Poet. It's all haiku which is something new for me. Then I realized today that I didn't include my email or mail address much less the blog on the latest group of zines that I sent out. Kinda self-defeatist thing to do. But that is par for the course. Guess I won't expect too many hits off of that.

Talking about haiku, a few weeks back, as I explained to my wife how sometimes words just come to me, as if I was turning on a faucet, you could say inspiration hit. In less than an hour and a half I wrote 19 more haiku (what's the plural of haiku?). Some of them were even good! For whatever reason my mind started coming up with line after line. Some came fully formed with little thought. Some came a line here and a line there and not necessarily in the regular 5-7 5 haiku line order.

Without a doubt I'm going to need to do some polishing on them but most of them will probably be in my 2nd issue of DTC. Don't groan, you don't have to read it if you don't want to. I'll still send it out to my regular people though. It's something creative and not too hard to make into a zine.

The people I send my zines to generally fall into three general categories. The first is those who trade with me. The second is those that have done something that I like. The third is the (rare) few who send me a buck or two for postage. It doesn't even matter to me if I get anything regularly from anyone. Whenever they can or if they can, if they can't that's fine. I'll keep sending them if people like them. If they hate them though, just don't tell me about it. Rejection sucks.

Anyway, back to updating the look of the blog. Seems I'll have to do some searching to figure out how to add some buttons or whatever they're called these days. I've no idea where to start. Or maybe I'll just assign it to my I.T. guy. He's only 13 years old but pretty good. Besides, he owes me, you know, for bringing him into the world and all. A bribe may be in order to sufficiently motivate him but I've an idea for that. Stay tuned.
