Ten For Tuesday Episode 082: This One Is For Carol Jannsen

Yes I know it's not Tuesday but I couldn't hold back any longer on this episode. If you are asking yourself who is Carol Janssen and why does she rate an episode dedicated to her well the answer is easy. Carol is a listener and sometimes guest host on the Stuck In The 80s podcast that I hold so dear in my heart. A few episodes back she wrote in explaining that she had been working a massive bunch of hours and wanted some suggestions for music to help her pick her energy level up on those rare occasions when work was finished. I might be paraphrasing here and adding my own details but I can do that, it's my blog. At any rate of course I was inspired to write a few song titles down but not enough to actually send them in. The more I thought about it though the more I felt the need to turn it into my own podcast episode so here we go. Nine slices of energy building 80s classics (and one from the late 70s) guaranteed to get your feet moving so long as you're not dead. Wow, did I use the word episode enough this time? Be forewarned, there's lots of ska here.

Madness - One Step Beyond
The English Beat - Ranking Full Stop
Romeo Void - Never Say Never
Fishbone - Party At Ground Zero
The Skids - Into The Valley
The Vapors - Turning Japanese
The Special AKA - Free Nelson Mandela
Oingo Boingo - Who Do You Want To Be
The Selector - On My Radio
Bad Manners - Lip Up Fatty

Ten For Tuesday is a podcast dedicated to playing the music I couldn't find anywhere else. The music I like varies from style to style, genre to genre and era to era. You will hear punk, ska, rock, Americana, metal, country, rockabilly and more from all over the world. It doesn't matter if it's a major label or indie as long as I like it then it gets played. The motto is Less Talk More Music which means you won't hear me waxing poetic for fifteen minutes between songs. At TFT its all about the music...and me of course.

Ten For Tuesday Episode 061

Another day another ten great songs for the podcast. Okay so this episode is late. I've been having problems with some adware freezing up my laptop and have been trying to get it fixed. I thought that when I got home from work I'd just put the file on my flash drive and use our home computer but there was one little problem with that scenario....my wife was using it and she didn't look to be finishing any time soon.

Ah well, life is life. So, having said all that, this episode is a little all over the place. There's some new metal/rock stuff, some old ska and new-wavish rock as well as Americana and more. It's really all just good music no matter how you slice it. Plus Alejandro Escovedo is playing in Tulsa on June 11th so I had to have him represented on here. After the show I'll put up some pics. That's about all I've got to say about it. The music stands for itself no matter how much jabbering I do. Enjoy.

Alley Cats - Nothing Means Nothing Anymore
Fishbone - Lyin' Ass Bitch
Aterciopelados - Bandera
Alejandro Escovedo - Put You Down
Will Hoge - Favorite Waste Of Time
Son Volt - Drown
Bottle Rockets - Radar Gun
Judas Priest - March Of The Damned
Tesla - So Divine
Night Ranger - High Road

Ten For Tuesday Episode 25

Episode 25 is late this week because, well, do I need a reason why? Of course I do. Podomatic gives a certain amount of space for free so in order to keep adding new episodes I have to delete the older ones. I didn’t want to lose those older episodes so the idea was that I would post them on the Internet Archive thereby keeping them available for as long as the Internet exists. The only problem is that I stopped porting them over after Episode 7. Recognizing my lack of productivity I started moving them once again and as of right now I have added Episodes 8 through 12. My goal is have all episodes moved so that when I put a new one on Podomatic I will then immediately upload it to the Archive and not have to worry about this issue in the future.

A pleasant by product of this laziness on my part was that when I looked at the episodes I had already uploaded (1-7 for those keeping score) was the amount of downloads each of them had received. Now I’m not suggesting that they were in the hundreds but most had more downloads than they had on Podomatic. The largest amount so far has been 40 so it was a nice surprise for me. It made my day a little bit better to know that someone out there is listening (albeit not a lot of someones…so far). Anyway, enough of my babbling, here’s what you come here for, the music:

The Stubborn All Stars – Pick Yourself Up
The Magic Touch – Dance Pon Di Corner
The Equators – Age Of 5
Inspecter 7 – Brother vs Brother
Fishbone – Ugly
The Sunnyboys – You Need A Friend
The Boys – Brickfield Nights
The Scientists – Last Night
The Victims – Television Addict
The Saints - Stranded
