notmovingpictures Episode 061: Who Was Your First?

Listening to the latest episode of Henry Rollins podcast (Henry and Heidi) got me thinking and that inspired this episode. First up I talk about who the first band I saw was and then who my first "real" concert was. There is a difference. Then it's on to who my son has chosen his first "real" concert to be. Hint, looking like Deep Purple and Alice Cooper. Understand though that he has been in the presence of musicians plying their trade before. There are various other musical meanderings muttered by me so take a listen and enjoy.

Opening music: Alloy - Live To See The Day
Closing music: Rollins Band - Tearing

notmovingpictures Episode 056: Roadtripping

I promise new episodes are coming with Tommy. As a matter of fact I am editing them now but in the meantime I felt like talking about music so here you go. Another episode of me rambling along about the recent concerts I've seen and those that are upcoming. Names like Prong, Sepultura, Testament, Local H have been seen and those like X, Alice Cooper, Megadeth and Scorpions are all on the schedule amongst others. Once again there is talk about wanting to do new music because I have a ton of lyrical ideas sitting and waiting but also about trying to learn to play a little guitar. It's not too long of an episode so go ahead and check it out.

Closing Music: Alloy - Live To See The Day
Closing Music: Thurston Moore - Cease Fire

The Official Trailer For The Movie "Suck"

Let's see, a struggling band gets turned into vampires and success ensues. It stars Malcolm McDowell, Dave Foley, Henry Rollins, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Moby, Alex Lifeson (here's my Rush tie-in) and more. Since I like a good comedy and a good vampire movie as much as the next guy I'm sure I'll have to take this one in whenever it makes it's way around here. The hype out there now is that it has all the markings of a potential cult classic so we'll have to stay tuned to see what comes of it.
